Family Planning is choosing when or if to get pregnant. Family Planning helps women and their families prepare for the birth of healthy children and it prevents unplanned pregnancies. Family Planning prevents the need for abortions.

The Council contracts with ten community based agencies which provide direct client services as part of the Title X program. Services are free or low cost based on family income.

Services are available to both teens and adults. Minors are encouraged, but not required, to involve a parent or legal guardian in their reproductive health decisions.

A wide range of family planning services* are available, including:
  • Physical Exams
  • Birth Control
  • Counseling and Education
  • Pregnancy Testing
  • Emergency Contraception
  • STD Testing and Treatment
  • HIV Testing and Counseling
  • Infertility Screening
  • Sterilization - Tubal Ligation and Vasectomy

     *Abortion is not considered a family planning service and is not provided.

What is Title X ?

    

Title X (ten) is a federally funded program under the Public Health Service Act dedicated to the provision of family planning and reproductive health care. The program offers a broad range of effective contraceptive methods (birth control) and related preventive health services on a voluntary and confidential basis. Priority is given to low-income persons. To find out more about this program go to:
